  • New edition of the Vetus Latina, the Old Latin Bible, of the Gospel of Luke and Matthew (together with Prof. Dr. Dr. Thomas J. Bauer, University of Erfurt)
  • Temple and ekklesia ("church") in Greco-Roman antiquity and the New Testament
  • The interface between the Greco-Roman world and the New Testament, especially with regard to ancient medicine and philosophy
  • New Testament anthropology
  • Ancient visual art and architecture, ancient numismatics, and methodology of ancient visual art
