GTU Celebrates 2014 Commencement

On May 8, fifty-four graduates were honored at the Graduate Theological Union’s 2014 commencement ceremony, held at Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary's Chapel of the Cross in Berkeley, California. Thirty-seven graduates received the Master of Arts degree, three the Master of Arts with a concentration in Biblical Languages, and fourteen the Doctor of Philosophy degree. Each of these students completed their programs in Fall 2013 or Spring 2014.

Commencement 2013

The colorful academic regalia of professors and graduates accented the festive mood of the occasion. On May 9, fifty-eight graduates participated in the commencement ceremony at Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary's Chapel of the Cross. Thirty-eight students received the Master of Arts, two the Master of Arts with a concentration in Biblical Languages, and eighteen the Doctor of Philosophy degree.

Commencement 2013

Thursday, May 9, 2013 - 4:00pm

Join us for our graduation exercises held at Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary's Chapel of the Cross (2770 Marin Avenue, Berkeley). Reception to follow.

Marilyn Matevia, Ph.D. candidate in Ethics and Social Theory, and Robert Russell, Professor of Theology and Science and Director of the Center for Theology and Natural Sciences, will speak. The faculty member receiving the Sarlo Excellence in Teaching Award will also be announced.

Parking is extremely limited.

Commencement 2012

The May 10 ceremonies at Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary's Chapel of the Cross recognized 62 graduates who completed their degrees in Fall 2011 or Spring 2012. Thirty-six students graduated with a Master of Arts degree, five received a Master of Arts with a concentration in Biblical Languages, and twenty-one received the Doctor of Philosophy degree.

Commencement 2011

The May 12 Commencement ceremonies marked the beginning of a new journey for 62 graduates who completed their degrees in Fall 2010 or Spring 2011. Thirty-three students graduated with a Master of Arts degree, four received a Master of Arts with a concentration in Biblical Languages, and 25 received the Doctor of Philosophy degree.
