Constitution Day at SFTS

Monday, September 18th 2017, 12:00pm
San Francisco Theological Seminary, 105 Seminary Road San Anselmo, CA 94960

As part of our participation in federal visa and student-loan programs, the GTU will be observing Constitution Day (September 17) in partnership with its member schools.

On Monday, September 18, 2017, we will observe Constitution Day in SFTS Chapel (12:05pm, SFTS Stewart Chapel).  Rev. Scott Clark (SFTS Chaplain and Associate Dean of Students) will be preaching. Before coming to seminary, Rev. Clark practiced constitutional law for 12 years, working on cases involving employment discrimination, Equal Protection claims, and First Amendment media access. On Monday, we will reflect on constitutional checks and balances on abuse of power, current concerns that we may be facing a constitutional crisis, and our opportunities for empowerment under the Constitution. Scott will be preaching on 1 Samuel 8:10-24, and the title of his sermon is “Constitutional Crisis.”
