GTU Collection of Sacred World Art Virtual Gallery Opening

Thursday, March 4th 2021, 4:00pm
Online Event, 2400 Ridge Rd Berkeley, CA 94709

Join the GTU for a virtual gallery opening celebrating the Collection of Sacred World Art. This extensive teaching collection of sacred objects was donated by renowned professional curator and scholar F. Lanier Graham from 2014 to the present.

The gallery opening will spotlight the virtual exhibition of the collection, which is supported by the Jane Dillenberger Fine Arts Endowment Fund and features devotional and ritual objects from the collection that were selected to help reveal stories, practices, and beliefs from the world’s religions.

Following an introduction from former GTU president Riess Potterveld, gallery opening attendees will have the opportunity to view a video from Lanier Graham about the genesis of the collection, explore the virtual exhibition, and join breakout rooms where GTU library staff will share more details about each art piece.
