Paying Tuition and Fees

GTU tuition and fees are to be paid online via the SONIS portal: https://gtusonis.jenzabarcloud.com. Students are responsible for using SONIS to find their balance due once their registration is complete. Statements are only mailed if a student is late in paying. All GTU MA and doctoral students will register and pay through the SONIS portal. GTU summer language courses are offered as continuing education and are payable at the time of registration through SONIS.

Payment Options:

GTU offers two options for paying balances due each semester. The first is payment in full by the payment due date using one of the payment methods listed below. The second option, available only for fall and spring semesters, is monthly payments during the semester. This option requires that the Monthly Payment Plan Application (link below) be completed and returned to the business office before the payment due date. If payment in full or a payment plan application is not received by the payment due date, a late payment fee will be assessed Further information may be obtained by contacting the GTU Business office via email at studentaccounts@gtu.edu.

Payment Due Date:

Payment for fall and spring tuition and fees is due by the end of late registration for that semester or when registration occurs, whichever is later. Payment for intersession and summer tuition and fees is due prior to the start of the course(s) taken. Payment for payment plans is due per the plan document. Failure to pay timely will result in a hold being placed on further registration or transcript release and may result in termination of enrollment for the semester.

Students who are unable to make a payment as scheduled are encouraged to contact the GTU business office so that alternative options may be discussed. We want our students to be successful in their studies and will try to work out a solution acceptable to GTU and the student.

Accounts not paid in full by the end of the semester may be turned over to collections. Should that be necessary, the student will be responsible for actual and reasonable costs of collection, including attorney’s fees.

Paying with Flywire, for International Students only:

The Graduate Theological Union has partnered with Flywire (formerly known as peerTransfer) to streamline the payment process for our international students. Flywire allows you to pay your tuition and fees from any country and any bank. They also offer excellent foreign exchange rates, allowing you to pay in your home currency (in most cases) and save a significant amount of money, compared to traditional banks. You will be able to track the progress of your payment throughout the transfer process via a student dashboard and you will also be notified via email when your payment is received by the Graduate Theological Union.
