Blyth Barnow, Harm Reduction Faith Manager for Faith In Public Life Ohio and founder of Femminary, speaks about their ministry as rooted in the Gospel call to healing, justice, and unconditional love.

Blyth speaks about themself as Queer. Femme. Preacher. Harm Reductionist:

"I went to seminary to learn how to hold spiritual space for the communities I come from. People deemed “too much” for the church. Too difficult, too poor, too “addicted”, too queer, too sexual, too political. These are the people who raised me. These are the people who taught me about the sacred.

I put myself through seminary by working at the Harm Reduction Coalition. For me, harm reduction is a spiritual practice rooted in unconditional love. It calls us to healing and demands justice. Just like the Gospel.

I currently serve as the Harm Reduction Faith Manager for Faith In Public Life Ohio and am pursuing ordination in the United Church of Christ (UCC)."
