Dr. Seumaninoa Puaina (PhD, ’16) passed away on April 18, 2021.
Dr. Puaina was a lecturer at Malua Theological College in Samoa. He graduated from the Graduate Theological Union with his PhD in 2016 and was a Newhall Award recipient.
“Seu was such an inspiring student and colleague who loved his work, his teaching and had a huge compassionate heart,” said Dr. Gina Hens-Piazza, Professor of Biblical Studies at the GTU and Dr. Puaina’s advisor. “This is a profound loss for his seminary, his family and his colleagues around the world.”
