Commemorating the Life of Fr. Antoninus Wall, O.P (1925-2021)

Fr. Antoninus Wall, O.P., former President of the Dominican School of Philosophy and Theology, died on Tuesday, March 2.

Fr. Antoninus was president of DSPT from 1980-1986. With his brother, Fr. Kevin Wall, Bishop Floyd Begin, then Msgr. John Cummins, and then GTU Dean (later, President) John Dillenberger, Fr. Antoninus worked to bring DSPT into the GTU in 1964, the first Catholic school at GTU.  A brilliant scholar of St. Thomas Aquinas in theology and philosophy, Fr. Antoninus helped to form many Dominican seminarians and others in the academic pursuit of truth in the early years of DSPT.

"We at DSPT owe Fr. Antoninus a great debt of gratitude for his contribution to the development of DSPT as part of the GTU," wrote Fr. Peter Rogers, President of the Dominican School of Philosophy and Theology. "May he rest in the peaceful arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ."
