Kook succeeds Maloney as Dean of Students

In an April 3 announcement, President Donahue informed the GTU community of recent changes in leadership.

Maureen Maloney, Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Students, currently on loan to the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), accepted a position as Vice President with WASC, having served the GTU for 18 years. Donahue commented that her selection was a "tremendous testimony to Maureen’s talent and professional leadership abilities."

Kathleen Kook succeeds Maloney as Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Students. She has been Acting Dean of Students since Maloney's departure. Before the transition, she was Director of Admissions, an office she has served since transferring from communications in 1993.

Katie Hennessey is the new Director of Admissions, having served in an interim role since fall. She will graduate May 9 with a Ph.D. from the GTU.

Additionally, alumnus Alan Kelchner (Ph.D. '03), a member of the Board of Trustees, was appointed Interim Vice President for Advancement.

This announcement comes only a few weeks after Donahue's appointment as President of St. Mary's College of California in Moraga, effective July 1.
