GTU Announces New MA Options in Hindu Studies and Interreligious Studies

March 3, 2015 - The Graduate Theological Union has introduced new degree options in Hindu Studies and Interreligious Studies for its Master of Arts program, and has extended the application deadline through July 1, 2015, for students seeking to enroll in these programs for the Fall 2015 semester.

Yoga Studies

About this Concentration

Students in the Yoga Studies concentration study Hindu and Jain yoga traditions with attention to research topics such as contemplative yoga, the yoga of self-knowledge (jñāna), the yoga of devotional love (bhakti), the Yoga Sūtras of Patañjali, and the Bhagavad Gītā. Other themes to be explored include immortality and liberation, tantra yoga, Jain philosophy of yoga, dharma and yoga philosophy, Nāda Yoga (the yoga of sound vibration and music), yoga and the West, and yoga, health, and healing.

GTU and Dharma Civilization Foundation Announce Partnership

The Graduate Theological Union and the Dharma Civilization Foundation have agreed to enter into a multi-phase partnership with the goal of establishing a Center for Dharma Studies within the GTU. The first two courses in Dharma studies will be offered in the fall semester of 2014.
