After five years of intensive planning, San Francisco Theological Seminary will begin construction on faculty housing and a new student village this June. Funded through the sale of a small amount of peripheral property, the construction will be completed in time for the beginning of the 2015-2016 academic year.
Dr. Christopher Ocker, Professor of Church History at San Francisco Theological Seminary (SFTS), will deliver the 2014 Distinguished Faculty Lecture entitled, "Reformations that Matter (and Some that Don’t)."
The GTU will host a book forum on a posthumously published book by the late Lewis S. Mudge, a distinguished theologian and pioneer of ecumenism and interfaith dialogue who taught theology and ethics at the San Francisco Theological Seminary for many years prior to his death in 2009.

Six religion scholars will explore the different ways in which people come to know God. Each scholar will present their research and then answer questions from the audience. A roundtable discussion will follow the individual presentations.
The Rev. Dr. Jana Childers will take over as the new dean and vice president of academic affairs at the San Francisco Theological Seminary in San Anselmo on July 1, but she's no stranger to life on the campus.

Dr. Eugene Eung-Chun Park, Dana and Dave Dornsife Professor of New Testament at San Francisco Theological Seminary, will be heading to Hong Kong this month for his third year as a mentor to young scholars through the Institute for Advanced Study in Asian Cultures and Theologies (IASACT). He will spend 6 weeks helping scholars refine and publish articles on a variety of topics in humanities and social sciences in the Asian Context.
