Applying Ancient Wisdom to Innovation

Wednesday, November 14th 2018, 6:00pm to 8:30pm
The Port Workspaces, 344 20th St. Oakland, CA 94612

Tap into your third eye! How can we look to ancient wisdom from different communities and traditions to inform solutions to today's challenges?

Hear from a panel of leaders who draw from ancient wisdom in different faith and cultural traditions ranging from Buddhism to Islam, Christianity, Hinduism and Indigenous traditions. How does ancestral wisdom from these traditions and our own personal and cultural wisdom from our families and communities inform how we see the world? What genius are we leaving behind on the table by not thinking about this wisdom in designing products, initiatives, businesses, and organizations? How is ancient wisdom relevant to design thinking and prototyping solutions to modern day problems?

Panelists include Dr. Susan Abraham, PSR Dean; Dr. Hatem Bazian, Zaytuna College Professor of Islamic Law and Theology; Patricia St. Onge, PSR Interim Director of Community Engaged Learning and Founder, 7 Generations Consulting; Brenda Salgado, Author “Real World Mindfulness for Beginners.”
