The University of Redlands Marin Campus is thrilled to welcome the Redlands-based Chapel Singers and Bel Canto for their inaugural concert on Sunday, February 23. This promises to be a wonderful evening celebrating choral music from around the world, with works by Whitacre, Elberdin, Uusberg, Esenvalds, Gimon, and many more.

You are invited to join us for a special reception at 4:30 p.m. in Scott Hall, where you will have the opportunity to meet current students, faculty, and alumni, while experiencing a private performance from members of the choir.

The University of Redlands Chapel Singers is an advanced 27-voice chamber choir composed of undergraduate and graduate students. Founded in 1965, the ensemble has a long tradition of musical excellence. Chapel Singers regularly performs concerts, church services, and educational workshops and has toured extensively in the United States and internationally. The Chapel Singers have performed at the National Collegiate Choral Organization National convention in Portland, Oregon, the California All-State Music Education Conference in San Jose, California, and with The WHO on their Quadrophenia tour. In 2018, Chapel Singers was the only choir invited from the United States to perform at Choral Canada’s Biennial Conference, Podium on The Edge, in St. John’s, Newfoundland, and Labrador, Canada.

Bel Canto is a select women's choir at the University of Redlands. Established in 2012, the choir consists of women from all academic disciplines, from freshmen to graduate students. The repertoire performed by Bel Canto is diverse, ranging from early music to new compositions, and with an emphasis on singing in multiple languages and musical styles. In its short history, the choir has premiered several new pieces for women's choir and has performed longer works accompanied by various instrumental collaborations. The choir has performed in Carnegie Hall, and has been invited to perform at the 2016 ACDA Western Division Conference in Pasadena, CA.
