The intersection of faith and spirituality with gender and sexuality provides both a history of trauma and a precedent for inclusion. This online CLGS Lavender Lunch presentation will also explore the ways that the current interfaith movement makes it possible for religious and interfaith spaces to be intersectional and relevant for achieving accountability and equity.

Tahil Sharma is the Regional Coordinator for North America at the United Religions Initiative, the world’s largest network of grassroots organizations dedicated to creating a culture of peace, justice, and healing. Tahil has 10 years of experience working in local and global interfaith spaces while engaging important conversations on race, politics, and other topics through a theologically progressive lens. Tahil comes from a Hindu and Sikh background and came out as bisexual in July 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic.
