Library Entryway Display

In 1968, amid the seminaries of Berkeley’s Holy Hill, the transformation of the plot of land known as “Maggie’s Farm” began. Internationally acclaimed architect Louis I. Kahn was retained to design the Graduate Theological Union common library, uniting the schools of the consortium in this shared endeavor.

This exhibition features architectural sketches and drawings by Kahn and his associates, as well as construction photographs from groundbreaking to grand opening. With these images, we honor our past, celebrate our present, and look forward to our future.

Exhibition curated by the Center for the Arts & Religion.
