The Future of Catholic Evangelization in the Era of Disaffiliation

Wednesday, November 17th 2021, 2:30pm to 4:30pm
Online,

How does the Church evangelize and create disciples in an increasingly secular society? As more people leave the faith, how do we reach out to them when they have no interest in stepping on church property? In this workshop sponsored by JST, we will begin to explore strategies of evangelization that address the realities of today’s more secular and disaffiliated population. We will discuss evangelization opportunities for students who serve in various ministry contexts.

Dr. John M. Rinaldo is currently the Pastoral Associate for Adult Faith Formation at St. Thomas More Catholic Community in the Diocese of Las Vegas. John earned his Doctor of Ministry (D. Min.) in Leadership and Organizational Development from the Pacific School of Religion at the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley, as well as a Master of Arts in Pastoral Ministry from Santa Clara University. John brings a wealth of pastoral ministry experience having served as a parish and diocesan director of youth and young adult ministry, a parish business manager, as a member of the executive leadership team for Catholic Charities of Santa Clara County, and on the Board of Directors for the NationalFederation for Catholic Youth Ministry. John has been married for 13 years and has three young children.
