The Silent Theology of Islamic Art

Sunday, December 17th 2017, 3:00pm
Zaytuna College, 2401 Le Conte Avenue Berkeley, CA 94709

The arts once represented Islamic tradition as much as theology and law, but today the arts have sadly been neglected. In an age when Muslims increasingly feel compelled to clarify, and even defend, their faith, can we rely again on the arts to communicate the beauty and truth of revelation?

Join Zaytuna College for a lively, on-stage conversation with a scholar, a calligrapher, and a designer.

Reception and Pop-Up Art Store: 2pm to 3pm
Program and Livestream begins: 3pm PST
Venue: Zaytuna College, 2401 Le Conte Ave., Berkeley, California

This free event is hosted by Zaytuna College, and cosponsored by the Islamic Art Exhibit and the Center for Islamic Studies at the Graduate Theological Union.
