T.V. Moore Lectures at SFTS

The San Francisco Theological Seminary (SFTS) will host the annual T.V. Moore Lecture series on Thursday, April 11 and Friday, April 12.  The distinguished speaker for this year’s event is Rev. Dr. Andrea C. White, Assistant Professor of Theology and Culture at Emory University’s Candler School of Theology, and Associated Faculty in the Department of Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies and the Graduate Division of Religion.

The Marriage Plot: Sexuality, Secularization, and the Emergence of Modern Jewish Literature with Naomi Seidman

Secularization involved, among other transformations, the shift in sexual, romantic, and marital practices and structures. In this talk, we will explore the ways that modern secular literature played a role in the romantic education of modernizing Jews, presenting new models of courtship, love, and marriage. A Discussion and Celebration of Youth Ministry

Research suggests that a majority of Christian youth doubt their faith, but few ever talk about it. They are often left on their own struggling with religious doubt.

Youth ministers, clergy, seminarians and laity are invited to the first Youth Ministry Celebration Day, sponsored by CDSP and the Diocese of California. Well known  speaker, Andrew Zirschky, will present his research and offer suggestions for using doubt to engage youth, followed by a panel discussion of local youth ministry leaders.
